Lights, Camera, Action!

LOVE this project!
I say this a lot, but really I am enjoying this project.

What I am learning

  1. How to be much more efficient in web 2.0, GOOGLE DOCS,DRIVE
    1. sharing docs
    2. real time collaboration
    3. setting up chrome,  and the facebook part of Google
  2. How much goes behind a 90 sec. clip

      • Film production involves several major stages:
      • Development — The first stage in which the ideas for the film are created, rights to books/plays are bought etc., and the screenplay is written. Financing for the project has to be sought and greenlit.
      • Pre-production—Preparations are made for the shoot, in which cast and film crew are hired, locations are selected, and sets are built.
      • Production—The raw elements for the film are recorded during the film shoot.
      • Post-Production—The images, sound, and visual effects of the recorded film are edited.
      • Distribution—The finished film is distributed and screened in cinemas and/or released on DVD.

  3. This whole process is amazing and student's learning of a content area would be great, if we taught them how to produce short content based clips. During the process of video production you go through the whole writing process, plus; collaboration,  team work, brainstorming, problem solving, research, and most importantly student would have the opportunity to make the learning and content their own! MAKING connection!! And internalize the content.

Success is in the planing

Great handout on how you teach students to become producers.

Photo Story!

LOVE it! LOVE LOVED this project.
Photo story is an amazingly easy way to take photos and turn them into magic. The program was free and soooo easy to use. I love all the option you have for making your pictures come to life. I recently helped create a sensory trail. The trail is for children with special needs. This is a new adventure for our little town. In fact we are 1 of 4 location in the state that offers such a thing. I will be using photo story  to help advertise.
Social study and history TEKS across the grade levels look at time lines. Photo story would be a great way to allow students to create time lines, and construct learning of periods of history in a engaging way.
